Garmin Street Pilot 2730 -To be successful in Gumball, Navigation is clearly the MOST IMPORTANT factor. You don't need to drive 180+ mph if you can out-navigate your oppnents. If you go 200mph in the wrong direction like some gumballers have... You literally get no where fast! We run three GPS units. Before each rally we make sure that we have all the latest updates & latest maps. In fact we keep backup maps of countries and areas we MAY go through as with Gumball you can never be sure.

We use one GPS as our main navigator, and the second one can be used for fuel stops, alternate routes, zoomed out for quick getaways from hostile entities in foreign governments, etc... The third can be used to compare the different routes, such as "fastest" verses "shortest" The 2730 has a nice feature where it continually auto updates the best route possible . This kicked in on several occasions during the 2006 Gumball.
